Upgrading your Membership

As you gain more qualifications and work experience in the industry, you will be able to progress to the next level of membership.

When and how to upgrade

1. Affiliate Upgrading To Associate

An Affiliate can upgrade to Associate membership when they have completed or obtained their degrees  or have completed a higher qualifications.

Applicants can upgrade by writing a letter to the Institute registar to upgrade his/her from Affiliate to Associate Member Certificate.

Please send the following to the Institute email:

a. Evidence of payment of upgrading fee of N30,000

b. Annual subscription fee to date

c. A copy of your Affiliate Member Certificate

d. A copy of your application letter for membership upgrade

e. A copy of your degree or additional certificate.

Upgrading your membership offers you the greatest level of benefits, including the ability to use the ‘ACIHRM ’ designation. CIHRM certificates are internationally recognized as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

2. Associate Upgrading To Full Member

An Associate can upgrade to Full membership when they have gotten an additional 3 to 5 years of work experience or have obtained or completed a higher qualification. (Post qualification).

Applicants can upgrade by writing a letter to the Institute registrar to upgrade his/her from Associate to Full Membership Certificate.

Please send the following to the Institute email:

a. Evidence of payment of upgrading fee of N30,000

b. Receipts of all annual subscription fees to date.

c. A copy of your Associate Member Certificate

d. A copy of your application letter for membership upgrade

e. A copy of your degree or additional certificate, if any.

Upgrading your membership offers you the greatest level of benefits, including the ability to use the ‘MCIHRM ’ designation. CIHRM certificates are internationally recognized as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

3. Full Member Upgrading To Fellow Member

A Full Member can upgrade to Fellow Membership when they have gotten an additional 3 to 5 years work experience as a Full Member or has obtained or completed a higher qualification. (Eg: Masters Degree or additional professional qualifications).

Applicants can upgrade by writing a letter to the Institute registrar to upgrade his/her from Full Member to Fellow Membership Certificate.

Please send the following to the Institute email:

a. Evidence of payment of upgrading fee of N50,000

b. Receipts of all annual subscription fees to date.

c. A copy of your Full Membership Certificate

d. A copy of your application letter for membership upgrade

e. A copy of your degree or additional certificate, if any.

Upgrading your membership offers you the greatest level of benefits, including the ability to use the ‘FCIHRM ’ designation. CIHRM certificates are internationally recognized as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

3. Fellow Member Upgrading To Doctoral Fellow Member

A Fellow can upgrade to Doctoral Fellow Membership when they have gotten additional 5 years of work experience as a Fellow Member or has obtained or completed a higher qualification. (eg Masters or DBA/PhD).

Applicants can upgrade by writing a letter to the Institute registrar to upgrade his/her from Fellowship to Doctoral Fellow Membership Certificate.

Please send the following to the Institute email:

a. Evidence of payment of upgrading fee of N100,000

b. Receipts of all annual subscription fees to date.

c. A copy of your Full Membership Certificate

d. A copy of your application letter for membership upgrade

e. A copy of your degree or additional certificate, if any.

Upgrading your membership offers you the greatest level of benefits, including the ability to use the ‘ Dr before and FCIHRM after their names’ designation.
